Let's go shopping!

How to read this guide:

You obviously know where the big boxes, malls and chains are. This is a list of "interesting" places to shop locally. We don't shop very much, so it won't be a long list, but hopefully fun.

All categories

  • Sweet Life (King & Columbia)
It's a candy store. A giant store full of candy, sweets and drinks. It smells like sugar in there. It is happiness.
  • Krazy Binz
A unique shopping experience, indeed. The shop is full of bins, which get refilled (currently) on Friday and Saturday. The price of each item starts at $25 on Friday, ending at $1 per item on Thursday. Go early for the best selection, or later in the week for ridiculous deals. It's an odd mixture of lost frieght, Amazon returns and things like that, so you'll never know what you'll find.
  • KW Surplus
The arch shaped building on Victoria street with a tank in the parking lot, and a plane on the roof. You'll find the things you need, less expensively.
  • McPhail's Cycle & Sport
Uptown since forever, a place to get bikes (and hockey things).
  • ReStore
Run by Habitat for Humanity, a place to re-use building materials and suchlike.
  • A Second Look Books & Movies
    Used books and suchlike
